An Introduction To CBD

An Introduction To CBD

CBD Basics:

CBD is everywhere, literally. So you have either heard of it, read about it, or had a friend or family member who has used it or is currently. We have conversations with customers everyday asking the basic initial questions like:

  • What is it actually?
  • What does it do?
  • How do I take it?

These are absolutely understandable and fair questions especially if you have never experienced using it in anyway. Then the next round of questions start to come up:

  • Is this Marijuana
  • Will I test positive for drug test
  • Is it Legal
  • Do I need a "Medical Marijuana Card"

Again, valid questions that the customer needs to ask and understand.

So let's dive into these questions with easy to understand answers and hopefully guide customers in the right direction to help them make the right decision based on their specific need and or requirement.

CBD Introduction:

  1. What is "CBD"?
    • CBD is short for cannabidiol and is one of over 100 compounds of the cannabis plant and one of the most prevalent.
    • It is a non-intoxicating form that is well known to have several effects in the body:
    • several other situations / conditions / that we cannot identify officially
  1. What does it do?
    • our body has what we call an "endo-cannabinoid" system. CBD binds or interacts with this system to help naturally regulate the specific needs or deficiency we may have.
  2. How do I take it?
    • Depending on what the individual needs are there are different ways to use the product:
      • Ingestible - Oral Tincture / Sprays, Softgels, Gummies / Edibles
      • Topical - Skin applications
  3. Is CBD Marijuana?
    • CBD is most prevalent in the Hemp plant and is not a psychoactive compound and not marijuana. THC is most prevalent in the Marijuana plant and therefore is the psychoactive component that induces intoxication.
  4. Will I fail a Drug Test?
    • This is a very common question for those who it is important to for either employment or personal belief and needs to be respected. So let's keep this basic for now....
      • The legal THC limit in the Hemp plant 0.3%. Not all CBD product is formulated the same so check with your product specialist and they should know...... If they don't, go somewhere else (just keeping it real)
  5. Is it legal?
    • Yes, Federally it is legal due to the 2018 Farm Bill.
    • Most all 50 states generally do not have issues with it but just to be sure, check with your local county or city. Everyone has since moved on to the state issues of Medical Marijuana.
  6. Do I need a Medical Card?
    • No, typically that is not required but again, some locales may have specific requirements.
